Twin-screw extruder

Twin-screw extruder

MANUFACTURER Leistritz
MODEL ZSE 18 HP-40D

General description:

Twin-screw extruder for polymer processing. Features high-shear mixing zones to ensure thorough dispersion of the ingredients.

Applications:

A blend of multiple polymers. A mixture of polymer(s) and liquid or solid (powder) additives. Processing of raw materials—such as pellets, powder, or flakes—into a monolayer film, a 3D printing filament, or masterbatch pellets.

Characteristics :

  • Option of a screw for commercial polymers (maximum temperature of 320°C) or a screw for high-performance polymers (maximum temperature of 425°C)
  • Water-cooled or air-cooled systems available for producing filament or pellets. Air cooling for film.
  • Calender available for film production.
  • Typical maximum production rate of 1 kg/h.
  • Dies for single-layer film (max 320°C) in 8-inch or 11-inch sizes.
  • Gear pump for pressure control at the end of extrusion (max 425°C)
  • A vacuum pump can be added in zone 3 or zone 6.
