General description:
The Q600 TGA/DSC is an instrument capable of simultaneously performing mass change measurements (thermogravimetric analysis, TGA) and true differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements over a temperature range from ambient to 1500 °C. The unique design of the “thermal balance,” a horizontal dual-beam system (sample/reference), provides better baseline stability compared to conventional TG instruments. The dual-beam system also enables dynamic normalization of DSC heat flow data using the instantaneous mass of the sample at any given temperature. Finally, the obtained data can be easily processed using the intuitive software, TRIOS, which is available for free download on the TA Instruments website.
Applications:
TGA analyses (mass change as a function of temperature); DSC analyses (temperatures and enthalpies of thermal transitions); simultaneous TGA/DSC analyses; quantification of the volatile fraction of a sample; study of thermal transitions at high temperatures (up to 1500 °C) compared to conventional DSC equipment (typically up to approximately 500 °C); thermal stability of all types of organic, inorganic, polymeric, and pharmaceutical materials in liquid or solid forms; analysis of gas adsorption isotherms on porous materials.
