| MODEL | VP-DSC |
General description:
The MicroCal VP-DSC is a high-performance, ultra-sensitive differential scanning microcalorimeter designed for the thermodynamic study of samples (biomolecules, micelles, polymers) in dilute solutions (0.1 mg/mL to 10 mg/mL). One of the main advantages of the VP-DSC is the ability to study molecules without the addition of molecular probes or labeling; in other words, in their native state. The thermodynamic data obtained (enthalpy, melting and denaturation temperatures) enable a wide range of applications for studying therapeutic formulations under real-world conditions (in the presence of excipients, with active ingredients at high concentrations, or for colored and/or turbid samples) in terms of stability, folding, and denaturation processes of biomolecules.
Applications:
Analysis of the thermodynamic profile (ΔH, Tm) of biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, lipids), micellar systems, and polymers; measurement of the stability (folding, denaturation) of biomolecules in solution; characterization of protein components; measurement of ligand-protein affinity; optimization of purification conditions and liquid formulations.
Characteristics :
- Sample volume: 0.5 mL
- Sample concentration: typically between 0.1 mg/mL and 10 mg/mL
- Temperature range: -10 °C to 130 °C
- Heating rate: 0.1 °C/hour to 90 °C/hour
- Cooling rate: 0.1 °C/hour to 60 °C/hour
- Wide selection of available buffers and solvents
