Universal mechanical testing system
| MANUFACTURER | Instron |
|---|---|
| MODEL | 5565 avec chambre environnementale |
General description:
The Instron 5565 is used to perform mechanical tests to determine the tensile, compressive, and flexural strength of various materials, from metals to plastics. In other words, the Instron determines how a material will react when a force (stress) is applied that causes deformation. With the Instron 5565, mechanical tests are simple, quick to perform, and can be fully standardized.
Applications:
Measurement of tensile curves to determine Young’s modulus (stiffness), regions of elastic and plastic deformation, strain, stress, and energy at break, hardening, etc.; stress relaxation tests; creep tests; cyclic tensile/contraction tests; temperature-controlled studies; temperature-controlled studies with specimens submerged in water.
A wide variety of materials can be tested: polymer films, textile fibers, carbon fibers, plastics, metals. The results enable the selection of an appropriate material to meet the needs of a specific application; predict how a material will react under normal or extreme forces; verify whether the requirements of an ISO specification or contract are met; and provide standard data for research or quality assurance.
