| MODEL | 1260 Infiniti III + Multidetector suite Infiniti II |
General description:
The Agilent 1260 infiniti III chromatograph is used to analyze the size distribution of polymeric materials. The instrument is equipped with an isocratic pump capable of achieving solvent flow rates between 0.1 and 10 mL/min with high stability. Up to 132 samples can be loaded into the automated injection system. Temperature control of the separation columns and detectors is possible between 30 and 60 °C. The instrument is combined with a detector suite including refractometry, viscometry, and light scattering, enabling triple-detection analysis or standard calibration. The instrument can be used in aqueous or organic phases (THF, DMF, CHCl3).
Applications:
GPC can be used to determine the molecular weight distribution of a new polymer material or to determine the polydispersity index of a material. It is also possible to obtain information about the aggregation of a material or its conformation in solution by determining the gyration radii of the polymer’s statistical cluster.
Characteristics :
- Isocratic pump capable of flow rates up to 10 mL/min
- Multiple columns capable of separating samples between 102 and 106 Da
- Up to 4 columns can be connected in series for more thorough separation
- Requires only a few milligrams of sample (injection volume: 10–100 µL)
- Temperature control between 30 and 60 °C
- Differential refractometry detector
- Viscosimetry detector (Wheatstone bridge)
- Light scattering detector (15° & 90°)
